Tell him he will need his long johns for sure!!! Our weather has been very nice so far in fact it's suppose to get up to about 50 tomorrow so we have been very lucky so far. Is he going to work out in the oil fields? The friendly folks will get him accustomed to what gear he needs real fast when the weather does change. It will be a change & an adjustment but hopefully he will feel welcome here & start feeling at home real fast.

Great that he has a job! What kind of work is it? Does it have to do with the oil there?

I don't think going to North Dakota is such bad news. He'll get warm clothes, and it isn't always winter there. Nice break from Florida heat & humidity, if you ask me. Besides, if you're in the Pacific NW, he'll be that much closer to you.

Yes, he is going to work with the oil field people. He'll be working as a cook. Twelve hour days, seven days a week, he said. I did look up the distance, and it looks like it will be about a day and half drive, so that WILL be nice!
Thanks Fritzy, for letting me know the folks are friendly. It's good to know. He's a big boy (over 40, retired Navy) but I worry about him!

North Dakota has some really nice people. You get use to the weather after a while. Either you get use to it or you develop a greater respect for what it can do. I'm glad to hear that he found a job. You'll have to come visit him some day, but time your visit when we have some of the best weather.
