You won't believe what I got today. I've been doing genealogy research on my family and my mother said she had a box of "stuff". I'm thinking pictures. Well, today I got the box and not only were there pictures in it, but there was 3 things in there that blew my mind!

1)a notebook with original pages from a family bible, birth certs, death certs, and marriage certs (for my GGGGranfather and his wife)

2) a woven spread -- and a note that says "my mother carded, spun and wove this spread right after the civil war", signed Rebecca Davis Webb (my GGGGrandmother).....WOW!!!! And it also had a handful of homemade linens...I don't know anything about linens, so I've got to research...

3) But best of all -- this woven glass beaded purse!!!

Now THIS is what I call a haul!!!!

Amazing!!! To be able to have information going back that far is truly a gift. And to have a woven spread, linen, and a purse is truly a treasure. Lucky you!!

You are truly fortunate  Most of the time things like that are disposed of as "trash"

Glad you got it

Until 6 months ago, I didn't even know my grandparent's parent's names.......By accident I ran across my grandmother's REAL name and from there it's gone wild. Why my mother kept everything secret from me, I'll never know.
