Yesterday was a rough day  I had to take my cat to the vet because I thought she might have a urinary tract infection. Because there was so much blood in her urine sample the vet thought it would be wise to take an x-ray to rule out stones in her kidneys are bladder. And clear as day in the x-ray...she has a bladder stone. So she is now on antibiotics and has to eat special prescription cat food to try and break up the stone. If in 8 weeks the stone hasn't broken up on it own and gone away, then she will have to have surgery. A surgery I can't afford. $1200!!!! I am miserable. I can't afford the surgery, but there is no way I could put her down, she is way too young and healthy of a cat (besides the stone of course). She is only four years old. It has already cost $360 to find out what was wrong and get her meds and food. I have to take her back in two weeks to have her looked at again to make sure the antibiotics are clearing up the infection. The eight weeks from now, she will have to have x-rays again.

I am praying and praying that the treatment will work and the stone will go away. Thankfully she is in no pain. She is acting the same as she always does (she is our trouble maker kitty).

Sorry to blabber on about it one here, but I needed to get it out of me somewhere. I feel crazy for being so distraught, because it could be worse. It's not like she is a person, but in my book she might as well be!!!

I'll keep your Kitty in my prayers. We do love our four leged kids. And I hope Kitty is feeling better.

I'm sorry your little kitty and you have to go through this. It is so stressfull when they get sick. Hopefully she won't need the operation. :(

Poor kitty! I hope she responds well to the drugs and needs no surgery. Keep us posted--we love those kitties.

Honey, don't worry about going on about your cat. I would be the same way. They are part of our family and we love them so much. I will pray for your cat and hope the meds work. If you can catch her give her a hug from me.

Anytime I sit in that chair, she hops up on my lap and wants to cuddle or nap!! I have learned to not sit there in my work clothes!!

Will be thinking of your and your kitty often. I too am owned by a cat - or 2, well really 3. One tends to have the UTI - never the stones. We stay on Science Diet CD full time now! I'm sure the med's will take care of the problem. Big hugs to you and your kitty.

I'm so sorry to hear this about your kitty! I'm hoping that the meds and diet will clear this up for her!!!
Is there an organization near you that helps with vet costs? Or a vet who uses a sliding fee scale?

Sew sorry about your kitty with problems! I have a trouble maker kitty who insists that I am here for only her! She tries to get between me and whatever I am looking at, mostly the computer right now! She is truly a pest! But I would do whatever I could to keep her comfortable. If it meant different food, like science diet or home cooked food, I would do it! Each of my critters has a special feeding station, cats up and dogs on the floor. But they are NOT spoiled! :?
I just had to go through the emergency vet thing when the big dog bit the little dog and left her eye lid with a big flap! All are fine now, and they get along well. Susie has no problem with her eye either! Thank God!
