My beloved pot is no longer scorched, thanks to all of you who answered my plea for help! A couple doses of Cascade and boiling water, followed b a dose of baking powder and boiling water did the trick nicely, thank you for the helpful hints!

Now on to the awful stove burners which have gotten a workout this month. I can not think how I didn't know this stuff!!
