My 16 year old son is a Sargeant in the Canadian Army Cadet program and will spend the summer in marksmanship training in Ottawa. Then he wants to enlist, after school of course. I will miss him again this summer. Hope he stays safe with all those guns and ammunition around.

It's difficult, isn't it, to be proud and worried at the same time? I hope the summer goes fast for you so he can come home.
When you're feeling lonely for him, come here and tell us.
Alot of us are in a similar boat. My grandnephew (he's 18) is just finishing boot camp and doesn't know where he'll be sent yet.

It is scary, yet exciting at the same time ! Scary that he is growing up , but exciting that he is doing so well

Keep us posted

{{{{HUGS}}}} Totally understand. Son is leaving for school next month for an ROTC Program and then into the service he goes. Scares the living h*** out of me. Atleast we know that we've raised them to be the type of individuals that are caring enough to want to protect others. That's a good thing!!! Just think of all the other stuff that could and is worse that they've could of fallen into. This is part of what is keeping me sane.

I went through it, too, years ago. He'll be fine, mom, and aren't you just so proud !!

Don't forget - we're always here if you ever need to unload or BRAG !!

God bless.

Just remember, if he doesn't call home, no news is good news. I'm a (retired) Army wife, been there, done that!

{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} I was ever so lonely after taking DD to church camp last Monday. Now I'm finally getting used to her being gone. I'll pick her up tomorrow. LOL
On a smaller scale I know what you're going through. But even though we hate to see them go we get to be proud of them for doing it.
