I used to go in with my haz-mat suit on and clean my kids rooms when they were off at Gramma's or Aunties house for the weekend.

The looks on their faces was priceless!!

Haha

when my daughter was a high school teen, she would leave a lot of stuff on the floor of her room. She was asked to tidy up and vacuum and usually complied, Once she showed some reluctance and did not do it for days. Her father was going on a business trip, so we loaded garbage bags with the stuff on the floor, put ithem into the trunk of the car and away he went. She was a bit angry (Yes a bit). Was she surprised!!! Shad to wear what was not on the floor or borrowed from friends till Dad returned. Lesson learned? probably not, but there is not a thing out of place in her mimimalist house. EXCEPT for the kids' rooms and they just shut the doors.
