I debated sharing this because just thinking about it makes my stomach sick, but... I won two auctions on ebay and they both stated "free shipping and postage''. When I got the invoice I paid it thru PayPal and then when they sent me an email notifying me that I had paid, I looked at it and it said "shipping and handling $11.19". I almost fainted!! I emailed the seller and they said oh no, ebay added that, they had nothing to do with it because I chose to pay it when I won the items. I called ebay and they said no, we don't add postage, the seller did it because apparently you chose to pay postage. I called PayPal and they said they didn't add the postage, the seller must have. I thought and thought and asked myself how in the world did I chose to pay shipping when the auction clearly said free postage. (If I had been more alert I would have noticed it before I paid and then could have handled it then.) After about 6 emails back and forth to the seller, I came to the conclusion that something wasn't right, but I had no idea what it was. The seller told me they couldn't refund the money because the package was already in the mail. Plus they told me that Ebay does this all the time and they have no control over it. So I told myself that I had learned a valuable and expensive lesson. I waited and waited and the package didn't come when it was supposed to so I emailed the seller and they said, oh we are so sorry, we'll contact UPS and refund your shipping. Duh-why could they NOW refund my money but couldn't before? I checked with PayPal and sure enough, the $11.19 was refunded. So, I am left with my auction, (which came late) a refund and the feeling that somehow, this seller isn't being truthful. Now, my problem is what kind of feedback do I leave? Believe it or not, they have a 100 % feedback.

I would be honest, they may dispute it but you have emails for proof of what transpired.

Here is another reason I will no longer shop E-Bay or use PayPal. Is there room to tell your story on the feed back? Do you even have to leave feedback?

Leave a neutral feedback. Mark down on postage not satisfied. Did you ask for an updated invoice before you paid. I have had people not be able to change the postage in their ad but be able to do it in an updated invoice. There will always be shonks but for the most part I have found most people are honest. Always ask for that updated invoice before paying.

Yikes! Thanks for the warning! I shop Ebay all the time and will be extra careful from now on. I have learned to watch closely the size of fabric. Many times I have almost paid $5 or more for half-yards and fat quarters. Some sellers are very tricky.

As for feedback, be honest about what happened to you. It may save someone else. They messed up their own feedback by doing what they did to you.

Why pussyfoot around. The seller wasn't upfront or honest. The auction said free postage and then all of a sudden it was Ebay that added the postage and then Pay Pal? Leave a negative feedback like the seller deserves.

If the seller has a 100% satisfaction they had to be doing something right..there are mistakes that happen all the time that are beyond our control..Guess I'm the odd man out here...I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and choose my words very carefully on the feedback

They deserve totally negative feedback. So they do not do the same to others. I have had the same thing happen, and PayPal is wonderful about getting your money back. It takes a while, but they treat you so nicely, and take care of all the hard work.

If you got the fabric, and it was as described, I would leave a netrual feedback and explain why. I think we just need to be more aware of what we are charged, and to read carefully the describtion of the item.

I just recently had an issue with a seller, regarding the describtion etc. I have not left any feedback yet, I am currently waiting to hear from the seller.
