Today I received the most marvellous early Christmas present - a new healthy but tiny grandson (2.6kg) -Orion Timothy George - born 5 weeks early.
As my dd was organising to to get Santa photos taken with her other 3 children early next week - and I have already made their Christmas outfits - she has asked me to make another one for Orion - so I'll be off to the sewing machine later tonight - but I guess that's size is not going to take long (LOL).

Congratulations on your new healthy grandson's arrival. Just in time for a splendid and Merry Christmas. [it is 5:12 am here, east coast USA time] What is the time difference?

Good Evening then Maus, so a 14 hour diff? Now we do not use the metric system here {{i know you know}} ?? Math is just so-so I do not know the formula to change it over. My ignorance.
Approximately how do kg translate to #s/oz.? Is he very light or premature? 3 #s?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you all for your good wishes.

phatquilts - If memory serves me right - I think the conversion makes him about 5 1/2 lbs (not that small I suppose but he is when compared to his sister and brothers who were all over 7 lbs). He is a little premature 5 weeks - so consequently Santa will have to work overtime in the next few days. Orion may end up with an IOU and picture of his quilt (I have the pattern and material) but still in the process of completing the his 2 brothers quilts - I think the way I'm going I'll still be sewing on Christmas Eve/Christmas morning (LOL)
