Name of town
Greetings from Idaho. Does anyone live in Holly, Minnesota or very close by.
My grandaughter will be in Holly all week working through her church to help those
in need of painting houses, mowing lawns. I just wondered what I could find out
about this town.

I'll bet it is too. She just called and said that's where they were going and I took off with it from there. Course, she's 16 and you never know and I'm 69 so you never know there either. hahahah I just had this wild idea in my head that if someone lived there they would know about it and go to one of the houses they were working on and asking for Madison and saying, hey, girl, I know your Nana in Idaho. Oh my, my sick humor. Thank you all for helping me get this straight. You guys rock!

I'm not sure, I'm going to have my husband look it up on his map program and I'll get back to you. Maddy goes to the Presbyterian(sp?) church, does your great-niece go to that church also? Later !!!! Ellie (aka sewellie)

I grew up in a small town north of Hawley. Hawley is a nice little town and I actually have or had distant relatives that lived there at one time. I now live 30 miles north of Minneapolis so not near there anymore although I go near there when I got "up north" to visit my parents and siblings and their families. I believe Hawley is in the Red River Valley so it is a very pretty area of Minnesota.

Do you mean Hawley, Minnesota?
If so, it's toward the western part of the state.
One of it's claims to fame is that a replica Viking ship was built there and was actually successfully sailed to Bergen, Norway. It resides in a museum in Fargo. Google Hjemkomst Museum. We just visited the museum this month.
