Default Name your favorite summer food indulgences

Summer is but a few short days away. That being said, what can't you live without at least once a season. Please make mine root beer floats, fresh corn on the cob, vine ripe tomatoes, and marinated BBQ chicken.

Any food from the grill, watermelon, fried green tomatoes, fresh ripe tomatoes, corn on the cob. I'd better stop - I'm getting hungry!

I don't have to think about this for more than a second. Corn on the Cob.

We soak it (green ears and all) in water all day long (a large bucket with corn standing on end). Once nice and wet, we put it on the grill set to low (green ears and all). We had a special can that was 18" tall and only about 6" diameter. We filled it almost full with water then dropped a stick (or more) of butter in it then put that on the grill to heat and melt the butter. When all was done, we pull the ears back and as they cool very quickly, we'd then use them as a "handle", twist the silk off the top, then holding the handle we dip it into the can of water with the butter floating on the top. Easiest way to butter an entire ear of corn. Salt. Eat. Repeat.

As a kid, I held the record for most ears of corn eaten in one sitting ... 9.

My love of corn on the cob was notorious and there wasn't a family on the block that could grill the stuff without inviting me over for at least one ear. I'd smell it and come anyway - invited or not, regardless if they had other company or not.

Peaches off my tree. Grill 'em, slice 'em over homemade ice cream, put 'em in morning cereal. But the best is right off the tree with the juice running down your chin.
