Anyone had a compressed fracture? I had a fall-again- and wrenched my back muscles but also got a fracture in L-1. that is waist level. sigh. this one goes with my bluging discs lower down.
When will l learn to just pick up my feet?? anyone know how long this will take to get better? I was told it will be a slow process and i must work full time anyway. such is life. :)

My mother fell and had three compression fractures in her back. They did a kyphoplasty (sp?), which is putting a cement in those vertebrae. It helped a lot. Lots of luck to you. I know, from my own experience how hard it is to function with severe back problems. Take care.

So sorry! You deed to be extra careful now! I had a pulled muscle, and it takes time for them to heal. Hope they are treating you for the pain.

Same thing happened to my Dad, but he was about 88 years old. Very painful - take pain meds!!! I also need to learn to pick my feet up - know exactly what you mean. Hope you are better soon.

It's happened to me. The arthritis that sets in after is nearly as bad. It will take a long time to heal, try not to fall again. Did they give you a brace to wear? The made one for me because I had to continue working as well.

Grace is not my middle name either, it's something about being tall and ungainly.

No brace but i'd love to have one. therapy last night almost killed me. he had me lay down on my back and then try to roll over to get up. it took over seven tries with severe pain, but i finally made it. he showed me how to lay down on my tummy and get back up. i did that one well.
but later and this morning, i could hardly move. but i made it to work this morning with an icy hot patch on my back.
the fracture is not waist level, it's three vetebrae up. L4 is waist and mine is L1. so that may be good.

You are amazing! The first time I broke one of mine like that they had me flat on my back in a hospital bed for 30 days. I was 19 years old. Do you know how awful that was? They have sure progressed in treatments a lot in the many years since. They always give me a brace now because of my previous fractures.

Hang in and tell him no more of the rolling over. I KNOW how badly that hurts right now for you.

I need prayers for my Son, Warren, in Texas who is in the hospital for gall bladder surgery. he's 42 yrs old and a bit overweight, but should do well. I don't yet know when his surgery is to be but it should be soon. I had no idea he was having trouble with his gall bladder. he has a bad neck which is causing his right arm to go numb, etc. Sigh. I'm up in Colorado and not able to get down there quickly.
so prayers would be most appreciated.
thanks all,
Carolyn
