Need Help Purchasing Fiberfill Stuffing
#1
I recently went to the Sew Expo in Puyallup, Washington and found a great user-friendly pattern for a bear and a bunny. I usually avoid these type of projects because they require stuffing and I can never seem to find a stuffing that works well and isn't lumpy, bulky, or looks uneven.
I purchased stuffing from the vendor and it's a little bit of heaven but it's also pricey. I would like to use these patterns in my classroom and since I would supply the stuffing, I don't want to spend money on the "good" stuff but I need something that's at least decent.
I saw a product called Silky Soft at Joanns that looked pretty good. Anyone ever use it? Can anyone recommend a stuffing they have had good success with?

I like Cluster Stuff can find it at walmart for like 4$ a bag.. is light and fluffy is actually kinda like lil pea size pieces you don't have to tear it apart to get it to "fluff" it's great, when I'm making something that needs "stuffing" I use this.

I usually get the big box at Walmart, ours still has fabric. I believe the key with any fiberfill is to really shred it so there are no large pieces or lumps and then stuff the object firmly. I was being a little lazy one time and did not use those hints and it definitely looked like it.

To keep the fiberfill from getting lumpy and bumpy, line the fabric with a thin quilt batting first. That's the only way I know to have a smooth lump free stuffing when using regular fiberfill. I can tell a big difference when I line pincushions with batting first then stuff, the cushion does not look homemade but handmade.
