Needle size for Bow Tuck

What size needle do you use in your machine while sewing a bow tuck together? All the layers are so thick when you join them. Would a larger size or a smaller size work better?

I use 80-12 for everything.

you may want to try a size 16 or a jeans needle

I've made many bow tucks with an 80/12 needle. However, bigger is better with all the layers.
