My children would laugh at this description, but all we have is a TV. I got this from Freecycle. In addition to the table, I got a 1970ish Singer. I wanted the machine so that I could practice taking a machine apart to clean and adjust, without messing up one of my machines. We liked this little table so well that DH cleaned it up and refinished the wood. The finish needs to 'cure' a bit more, and I want to make a mat to go under the TV.

This replaces the melamine covered particle board TV stand that we bought over 30 years ago, that was suppose to be temporary.

That will make a beautiful tv stand! I used to have my tv on an old flat top trunk but yours is really neat.

It was temporary. Only 30 years. (It wasn't permanent, was it?) LOL

It's absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't be able to hide it under a TV, even though it's a great idea.

I am cringing but at least it is not going to have plants on it. If it were me it would be put into service again but then I live and die by the treadle!!

All that aside that is a really nice piece that you do have.

Well, it didn't come with a treadle machine. And doesn't have a foot pedal (is that the correct name?) If I ever find the correct machine, I can always convert it back. I learned to sew on a treadle machine.

That would pose to be a problem now wouldnt it.... :hunf:

But if you need one and ever decide to use it again then I have several here that will fit it nicely.
