Default New Kindle Fire

I am so far behind with tech knowledge.
Just got this thing and it is so complicated that it is useless to me.
The keyboard is not like my computer keyboard so cant even put in a password.
Then I go online and find instructions that go on and on but are no help.
It keeps saying home page, where is that?
Now Im suposed to call them for instructions on setting it up. If it is going to be this much trouble, how is it going to be to order and read books?

I don't know anythnig abut the Kindle Fire but i have the kindle with the keyboard and I love it. It's so easy to order books over the computer. If you bought it at Amazon I found them very helpful. I had to call because when I bought my daughter a kindle as a gift all my books were transferrred to her kindle. They got it straightened out. Hang in there. I've had my kindle almost a yeaand have visited the library only twice since I got it. I have 350 books downloaded and they were all free.

The touch screen keyboard on the Fire can take some getting used to if you have not used touch screens in the past. Our library has people who can help you set it up. Stay calm and be patient. It is a great e-reader. The color feature is wonderful for quilt books.

I have two Nooks and its very easy but I understand you. Find a child; they just know how to do all this stuff these days. It's like second nature to them.

Default Don't give up!

I have the Fire and I am using it to post this response. I have it by my side all the time, take it to my appts to use while waiting, and take it in the car on long trips. You can do so many things on it and it's right by my fingertips. I don't have to go to go upstairs to our office to boot up my computer and wait to get online. I read my email, search the Internet, read this board, play games, check the weather, and most of of all READ! It will take time for you to find out how to do some things. And using the keyboard does get easier with time. I am still learning all of its capabilities. A board member helped me learn how to respond to a post. I also learned on this board about links to many free books. So don't give up. Find a friend that has one to help you or PM me and maybe I can help. Good luck!

I love my Kindle. I'm an old lady and if I can figure it out you can too. I just keep learning new things all the time. I read the books from the kindle and also from my local library. My library had an overview on how to download the books since there were so many new Kindles and Nooks gotten for Christmas. There is so much you can do with it and once you get the basics down you will be able to do almost anything on it. Don't give up on it.

i just typed kindle fire instructions in the search bar in yahoo and evidently there are printed manuals out there you can buy. you might try that.
also do check your Home button for installed apps. User's Guide is on mine. sometimes it goes to page 2 if i have books saved. good luck.

I love my fire. I read ; watch movies; and am responding to you on it. kind of like the ipad but way cheaper. Home is the little house Icon on the left side botton of your screan. Sometimes it will look like its missing. Look for a up arrow in the center bottom of your screen and this should pull up the choices. Good luck.
