I just came back from a house and garden show and saw a row of these signs (close to the building, of course). This is a new one for me!

I see these signs fairly often in the Denver area. I believe they are are for higher mpg type cars - compacts or hybrids rather than large sedans or vans. To my knowledge, it's not an enforced parking spot as handicap spots are especially since I sometimes see cars parked in the spots I would not call efficient.

My car would qualify for this parking. It's a small Saturn that gets about 23 in town and over 35 on long, smooth drives to other towns. But I don't think much of this, since my DH was handicapped and we had a constant fight with able bodied young folks parking in the blue zone. I've pushed him half a block in blazing sun, wind and rain, while younger, able bodied persons jog trotted to the store to get out of the weather. No one ever went back and moved their cars when caught at this, but I did call the police several times and saw them get tickets when they returned to their cars.

Their selfish excuse? "It's the only parking space NEAR the building'!!!!! And they were using an older family members' blue parking tag.

I've seen "electric vehicle" parking (for charging), but this is a new one to me! DH has prius, so we approve ;-) !

We have those signs here. Supposedly, they are for vehicles that get more than 25 MPG. No one pays any attention to them at all. You see dually trucks parked in them all the time.

Would think it would be for the electric cars but I don't think the electric cars should rate above handicapped parking, like Ramona said, will have to be parking further away so young healthy people can plug in!
