    New Puppy

    We are getting a Newfoundland Puppy in a week. Anyone have and advise?

    I would advise you to study their personality traits if you don't know them. Some dogs are harder to train than others and some have some quirks. We used to have a Great Perineese (sp), and we tried to crate train her before we knew that that breed doesn't like being confined.

    Lucky you! My DD had a HUGE Newfie. Be VERY selective as to the puppy you choose, (if possible) as some DROOL less than others. You want a "tight-jowled" one. Buy a new, powerful vacuum too!!

    Agree about the vacuum. Also - we had a German shepherd and crate trained him and he never chewed anything he wasn't supposed to and was easy to potty train.
