Default New use for Elmer's Glue

Hey gang, found a new use for Elmer's Glue. I've been working on making new pillow covers for my sofa throw pillows. I wanted to add an embroidery design to them but I wanted to be able to change them out when I got tired of the design. I was going to make a type of sleeve and attach the embroidery design piece to it but that meant I'd have to either sew it on to the sleeve or attach it somehow. Even thought of using water soluble thread so it would be easier to detach at a later time. Anyway, yes you may think I'm getting pretty lazy here but I get bored with the same thing all the time so I wanted a way to be able to change things out easily.

Anyway back to the glue. Since I use glue to attach my binding to my quilts before sewing them on permanently I thought why not glue the embroidery design to the pillow cover. I have 2 kitties that play on the sofa so this will be the test how long the glue holds up to them.

When I want to change them out or they need washing, I can just pull them off, wash and blue them back on or change them out to something out.

Yes I know my corners are not perfectly square but if I tried to poke them out anymore I was afraid I'd poke a hole in them so I left them as they were.

That sounds like a pretty good concept! Your designs are beautiful -- keep us posted how this works out.

Speaking of uses for Elmer's Glue; this is not quilting related but useful. It makes a great peel off facial mask! Pulls the blackheads and dirt off your face.

Great idea. I was taught to sew the corners all the way to each end, double stitch, then cut diagonally across. The corners poke out perfectly that way.

I think we are only limited my our imaginations. Takes me a while sometimes to imagine something simple.
You have a great imagination and I hope the kitties don't get them off. Very pretty pictures.
