What do you like most about it and what do you like least? What are your general thoughts? Is the "points" system hard to follow?

My mother was on weight watchers. She started in 2005 and was trying to meet her goal weight by my brother's wedding in August 2006. She met it and loved it. She worked out at a gym before work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. She said the point system wasn't that hard to follow. When she went to a restaurant, she would split her meal in half, so she could take half home for lunch the next day. Sometimes, she would go ahead and get the to-go box, to put it in, so it wouldn't be in front of her. And wouldn't be tempting to keep eating. Once she met her goal weight, she did not go to the weight watchers meetings as often because she said that the stories and lessons were getting old. She said the "leaders" would repeat themselves after a while, and there got to be where there was nothing new to be said. I hope this helps!

I enjoyed going to WW, I lost the weight while I was going, after I stopped I started to climb again. If you record all that you put in your mouth, it will work for you. Just make sure you write it down and stay within your allowed points.........Michele Thinking on joining again for the support

The program absolutely works if you stick to it. What I like about it is that all the foods you need are right there in your grocery store. Doing it with a friend is very helpful because you can compare notes and share recipes. What I don't like about it is that it doesn't have enough chocolate for my liking!  All kidding aside, if losing weight is what you want to do, this is a wonderful program that does work if you stick to it.

i was on it 3 years ago and lost 25 lbs. You eat everyday food and it makes you aware of what you are eating. Example you can have a 2 small pieces of candy or an apple, which will fill you up more? I was discouraged at first because i felt like i was hungry all the time and the first 2 weeks my weight wasnt coming off then all of a sudden it was 1lb, then 3 lbs and each week after i was steadily losing. During the holidays this year i got off track because i LOVE baking and had too many sweets, but i am now watching what i am eating again and hope to lose the 5 lbs i put on. Stick with it and be accountable for what you eat and it will work.

I didn`t go to meetings but I did join WW online, and use the online tools for tracking food etc. It`s a great program for teaching you about portion sizes and making better choices. What I didn`t like was the cost. There are many free websites that provide basically the same service. I am currently using www.sparkpeople.com to track my food and weight and I like it better than WW.

I didn`t like the idea of having to go to meetings and be weighed in so this works for me. It`s much easier to be accountable for what goes in your mouth when you`re keeping track of it.

I started going last week. I don't have any comparison between the new system & the old one. However, I do like the new points because a lot of the fruits & veggies are zero points which encourages you to eat more of that.

You do get extra "bonus" points for splurging, but I haven't really used any of them.

The only bad part I'm having at the moment is figuring out points for some stuff. As soon as I learn that, it won't be hard.

I love the program!
Just a little background on me- I have lost 95lbs in the last 4 years. I lost 37lbs of that with WW since the end of March 2010. I am currently 6 lbs from my goal weight.
I really hate a regimented exercise program, so I don't do one. I do things to incorporate exercise into my day such as walking the dogs, taking a walk, and parking farther away from the store.
We just switched over to the new pointsplus program which I think is even better than the previous.
Now- What I love about WW- I can eat whatever I want because it all fits into the program. The points system is easy! You make the choice about how you want to use your points.
There is nothing I don't like about it, except maybe tracking all your food intake. But, it keeps you honest with yourself and when I do track I consistently lose weight each week.
You get a set number of points for each day to use on food, you also get a weekly points allowance and you can earn activity points that you can use that day or save for later in the week.
What really makes my WW group so special is our leader Pat, she is kind, compassionate and just hilarious!
I urge anyone that is thinking about joining to go check out a local meeting. You can go sit in on a meeting or try several meetings with different leaders. WW also has the program online so if you don't like meetings you don't need to attend.
Check it out! What do you have to lose except some unwanted lbs?
