I just got back from Wal-greens where I was told that I had reached my limit for Sudafed for the month. I haven't purchased Sudafed in months, so I am really worried now.

I am wondering how I can find out when someone used my ID and where! This is most distressing. I am actually going to call Walgreens later and complain, because they were somewhat rude to me when they told me I had reached my limit.... like I was some kind of meth maker, or something. What a horrible feeling. There were so many people at the counter at the time and I was embarrassed when she announced that I had purchased too many this month. I haven't bought any "drugs" since at least October.

Ask the pharmacy for a printed copy of all the occasions "you" have gotten medications. If you see instances when it wasn't you, ask to see the paper "you" signed and compared the signatures. (I have to sign a little piece of paper every time I pick up a prescription).Complain to the pharmacy if they have been your precriptions to someone else.

This isn't a prescription - just over the counter and when I asked, she said that the state keeps track, not them.

I would do as Maride said and then I would contact the police. They also have survalance and they can go to those occasions on the tapes and see who it is that has your ID. Walgreen's being rude is the least of the problem.

If the state is the one keeping track, then HOW can the store tell you if you purchased more than the "quota"?
The store has to have some sort of record with your name on it in order to tell you this info.

All pharmacies are hooked up to a drug database and when they enter a sale into the computer it bumps the sale up aginst the DB. These purchases they speak of may not have been at a Walgreens at all. Nor in the state, but they should be able at the very least to give you a phone number of the agency that can tell you something about these sales.

But that still doesn't explain why she has reached her quota - her name must be linked somewhere.

Do you have a common name - could they be confusing you with someone else?

I know all about that same name/different person thing.
Have had my license revoked, almost arrested and tossed in jail. Had my bank account "suspended". Lawyers calling to tell me that the police/sheriff is on the way to pick me up....numerous things!
It's not fun at all trying to prove to others you are NOT who they think you are!
Right now I'm STILL fighting/arguing with a lawyer about a Verizon cell phone bill. For some reason, they keep following me from place to place. The woman who is actually the culprit is in her 30s, lived in 4 other places, none of these places I had ever lived...had to send PROOF to a court that it was not me. Had the "charges" dropped against ME, only to have ANOTHER lawyer pick it up and start all over again.....I'm telling you...NOT FUN!! I'm sure that when we move again, the letters, phone calls, etc will start up once again.....

When I worked at Walgreens, they just limited the amount you could purchase of those kind of drugs in one purchase. If you brought a bunch to the coiunter the computerized register wouldn't let you ring it up. Large amounts of this drug are used to make meth, which I'm sure everyone knows.

If you weren't trying to buy a bunch, I would definitely inquire. Maybe they've changed the rules and go by telephone numbers or something. If you really need sudafed, which is a wonderful decongestant, I'd suggest going to CVS or Walmart or even your local grocery store. You should be fine if you only need it for the occasional cold and are buying consumer-sized portions. Try some vitamin C too. That's stuff's still legal!
