Needing a penpal for my 8 year old granddaughter she driving me crazy to find her one. She loves writing and receiving letters and wants a friend in another state to write to.

Have you googled "pen pals" ? A lot of sites come up.

I had one in France when I was in school, but we never really connected. My sister had one in England and they kept in touch for a long time.
Good luck!

contact Girls Scouts or some organiztion like that. there are probably others that would like a safe way to find a penpal. Maybe her teachers would also have a suggestion.

I also agree with bakermom. Although we tend to think of the QB as a community, it's open to anyone and everyone - good people and bad.

Perhaps there is someone on here that has a GD of the similar age and interests that would also like to be a penpal with your DGD!

Ask her teacher...or the school librarian or past teachers. Someone should know of someone in another state. You do want to be careful. Or maybe ask around at church? If I were still teaching, it would not be a problem...but 3200 miles from where I taught puts me at a deficit for helping. So sorry. And I taught 8 year olds...perfect age for this.

I had a girlscout troop for years here in ohio and I agree it would be a wonderful place to start! I will go to the council bld this week and see if they will put the information out to a few troop leaders. If you PM me with YOUR information; I will see if atroop leader will contact you.

Hi, I have an 8 year old grandaughter and I could ask her if she would like a pen pal, she loves writing and was always really excited when I did my secret pal swap and I received a package from America.

Let me know if you think your grandaughter would like to write to someone in an other country and I will ask my gd.
