This is how I do them - don't like the tied kind. Just finished making about 20 in all sizes for our childrens angel tree xmas.

QUOTE=willferg;5698032]I've seen them where the two pieces are just stitched together about 5 inches in all around the edge and then a fringe is cut but not tied. Looks kind of nice that way, too.

When you buy your own fleece, you can choose just exactly what you like, which is kind of fun![/QUOTE]

I have purchased the kits from Joann's several years ago - they were easy to lay out, cut and tie. Currently one resides in a dog kennel (that individual will not be receiving a quilted one!).

This is what I do. Those knots can get very hard. Most kids hate those bumps near their faces. Not to easy to cuddle up with after a few washings. Google How to weave a fleece blankets. Several links will take you to tutorials.

I also bought a lot of fleece when JoAnn put it on sale for Black Friday and saved a bundle, bought a lot of prints for the grandkids.
Their is a rotary blade out now that makes a hole in the fabric haven't tried it on the fleece but have tried it on the towels that i make towel toppers.
