I am brand new to this site. I am looking for free Redwork Ornament patterns to make for my grandchildren.

I know this is not a quilting question, but since quilting is what I usually do, I thought I migh find someone here that also does some stitching and could help me with this.

I don't know where you can find free ones, but this site has very reasonable prices...some designs are $1 each

I have only found one or two free patterns, but I have a good collection that really hasn't cost me much. If you buy anything (and they sell single designs if you only want one) go to
http://www.emblibrary.com and put redwork in the search. Once you have bought something, you get frequent special offers when you might be able to get 10 single designs for $10, or everything half price, or some other variation on savings. I hope that helps, this company has more redwork designs than most, as far as I can see.
Put everything in your wish list, and wait for an offer to come along!

You are an absolute treasure! I found EXACTLY what I need.

Each year I make an ornament for each of my 4 grandchildren (hence OmaForFour since I am German descent). I started each of them when they were one year old. I told them I would make one each year until they are 21 y.o. That way they would each have a nice set for their Christmas Trees (if I survive that long). I am now 71 y.o and my youngest is 7 y.o. and the oldest is 11. 3 girls and 1 boy. There are boy/girl twins in the middle.

You have truly made my Christmas a happy one! THANK YOU! :D

HAPPY QUILTING!
Marie

This is another good site for free redwork patterns for ornaments. I am making these myself.

Thanks so much for sending this to me! I just received the same info from another member of this board.

I am so happy with the quick responses! I am sure, as a brand new member, that I am going to enjoy this very much.

As soon as I have time, I am going to post a pic of the Double Irish Chain Quilt that I am working on. I pieced it entirely by hand (queen size) and now am doing the quilting by hand also. It is dark green & white and I am doing a 5 inch rosebud, white on white in the large squares and stitching in the ditches on all the rest. I have been working on it for a year.

Have you tried Annthegran.com? They have so many free designs.

I have been trying for quite a while to get this to work with putting the pics on the message. I hope it goes this time.

This is a queen size. hand pieced, hand quilted Double Irish Chain. I have named it "Irish Rose" because of the 5 inch rosebud I am quilting into each large white square. The rest of it is being stitched in the ditches.

My husband built the frame it is on. We bought the hardware kit and then obtained the poles and wood ourselves. Saved a bunch of $$ doing it that way.
