Congratulations, sewNso. I had a feeling it would be you. I hope you like autumn themed fabrics.

I am ready to make some granola. I bought another one at the health food store yesterday that smells like stale oil. It's prepackaged from a good company and not due out until April of next year. The last one was a bulk item so I wasn't as surprised. I will take it back and get the ingredients to make my own. It sounds like your recipe could be baked broken up for granola, Cindy. I do have all the ingredients though I think I'd like less (or no) banana and more other pureed fruit. I'm not a fan of cooked bananas. If I leave it as a cookie, I will have to make either two or three - probably three, otherwise I'd eat the whole thing at once.

I'm tired. I pulled more weeds, did some TV exercises and sewed a strip of blocks in my quilt. I'm having reservations about this being a bazaar quilt, but I don't know what I'd do with it if I don't use it for that. No red or yellow rooms here. Whoops, the laundry room is yellow and pink, but it doesn't need a quilt and certainly not this one with so much red. Off to clean the kitchen before my daughter comes to go out to dinner.

Have a wonderful month, everyone, newcomers and returnees alike. I will post a list on the 4th.
I AM losing weight and getting healthier.
Judy

I have a few bananas in the freezer, but no applesauce. I think I have everything else. I will check it out for when I do my next shopping. I think that you could change to any fruit pruee. Give it a try and see what happens.

I have used my bananas for banana nut bread in the past.

Judy- i wonder if it is possible that even thou the granola wasn't out of date it they didnt use some older oil not realizing that it would go rancid. I have gotten one like that before.

So what is everyone working on these days? I am still working on the t-shirt quilts.

sewNso - congratulations!!!!! That is AWESOME!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

Irish - I need to pull weeds. Just can't seem to get motivated to do that one chore. Maybe this weekend in the evenings after work if the weather is good. Rainy today, so not going to happen. I need to cut back my butterfly bushes as well, they've taken over!!

I'm working on making a Mondo Bag (quiltsmart) with my Ravens football fabric. Also got the fabric to put the finish the borders on my flannel quilt. And I have a quilt on the longarm waiting for me to quilt - still working out the design. My quilting room is a wreck right now, stuff everywhere. Need to really reorganize.

COngratulations Sewnso. 11 pounds puts me to shame. If you can do it, I'll try very hard to give you a run for your money (or fat quaters) in October.

vanogay. bring it on. this will be my 3rd month of dieting. and since i won the FQ this month, i can't next. but we'll do a mini 'run for the money', just between the 2 of us, if you want. winner gets an extra 2 FQ. what say? about the 3rd month, or after 20 lbs, i usually 'lose it'.

I am working on my 12 identical blocks for a block swap. I have the first 4 almost done. I hope to finish during a retreat next week. They are getting a little easier and looking better as I go along. I have to have them done by the end of this month.
Is anyone going to the quilt show in Houston? I am thinking about going.

I'm in for a "Mini Run" just between the 2 of us. An extra 2 FQ? Okay. With that kind of incentive, I'd better do something - other than just hold it which is what I did in September.

I've made both banana bread and cake, but not for me. I have some little containers of mango, raspberry, strawberry sauce so I can use some of those. Hummingbird cake with bananas, pineapple and pecans with cream cheese frosting has to be good if you like cooked bananas. I'll take mine without the bananas, then it would be a Mexican Wedding cake. I eat a raw banana almost every day for potassium for my heart. Just don't cook them.

My oldest daughter took me to the only waterfall in the lower peninsula of Michigan before we went to dinner. The colors of the trees are magnificent. I thought I wanted my ashes sprinkled at the waterfall, but the hike was a little rough. Two of my daughters would have difficulty, so it's back to the drawing board. I had my phone in my pocket because I forgot my camera. I was so busy trying to stay on the little walking bridge and not slide into the creek after I got across that I forgot to take any pictures. Oh well, mind pictures are better.

I had a meaty omelet and a fruit cup at Bob Evans' for dinner. Off to walk the dogs again and then back to the bazaar quilt. I may go to bed early. I've had more fresh air today than I normally get.
