I have 401a and I need to replace the needle. What kind do I need? Does it have to have a flat side like the 301? I have all kinds of needles 10, 12, 14, all of them are rounded. I have not been able to get them to fit into the needle shaft.or what ever it is called. Need help! :?

15-1 Organ needles. You can get them on ebay--that's where I get mine, Jenny's Sewing Studio, Sew-Classic.com. I got the best deal on ebay.

It's the same needle as the 301. Loosen the thumbscrew a lot and wiggle and jiggle the needle around. I think the 401 threads left to right, so the flat spot will be on the opposite side as the 301.
