I participated in a round robin several years ago and our theme was houses. One girl picked lighthouses for her blocks. I did the Thomas Point Shoal lighthouse (#10) for my block. I bought a pattern at a quilt shop in Maryland that had paper pieced lighthouses of Maryland. It was a fun block to make.

This is my paper pieced block of the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse

Here are her lighthouse blocks for her round robin quilt---mine is in the lower left corner.

Thanks--I like to paper piece and it was fun. It was neat to be able to do an actual lighthouse for her quilt too.

I swear I have seen some similar to #4 on the sides of Fjords in Norway. I think that would have been real. That one in the Iceberg would have been interesting.
