Let me start by saying I love my family. I really do! However, in the last 3 weeks with Christmas gatherings, guest visiting, running here, there and everywhere, I'm worn out! Today I take my grandchildren, ages 12, 10, and 8, home and then I'll really feel like my home is my own again after I get it put back together. My son and DIL will be here for another 3 weeks, but they have their own plans that don't really influence me and my routine. I'm so ready for life to get back to "normal."

Good for you! I hope normal is another word for "sewing all the time." Treat yourself to rest and fun.

Oh, I plan on it Lynn. I have lots of sewing to do and can't wait to get back to it. Also I'm starting the tax season next week, so will be busy with that until the end of April. But, my life will be my own again.

I'm enjoying a few days of "normal" this week with hubby back to work after his Christmas vacation. But starting next week he will be working 2 1/2 days a week and by months end may be laid off - so "normal" won't be the same for me. On top of it all my sewing machine broke a couple days before Christmas. It's going to the shop Monday when our weekly bee resumes. Can't wait to get it fixed and back home.

I am so with you!! One child was home from college, another had winter break from High School. Husband had off the week of Christmas through New Year. We spent time cooking, baking, eating, shopping, more baking, entertaining, doing more loads of laundry I can count. More eating...and cooking...and laundry. What I did not do was sew...sigh.
Hubby went back to work yesterday and youngest daughter started back up with HS as well. Oldest child is heading back to college Saturday and I have started to take Christmas down. Once everyone and everything is back in their rightful place, I will deep deep clean this house and hopefully get back to MY routine I already have lots of UFOs and new projects lined up....

Isn't it strange. We love to have them come home, but we love to see them go. Ally I'm so sorry to hear that your hubby may be laid off. I know that hurts. I got laid off last June and it's definately been a struggle. That's why I'm doing taxes for pay this year and hopfully will find a job soon. I don't know what I'd do if my machine wasn't working. I'd go a little batty for sure.

I have some shirts that need to be done so today I hope to start cutting them out. First I need to do some cleaning though. I know my cutting table is here somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it. Everythings been pushed around and moved so much I'm afraid it's going to take a while to get everything in order so I can sew.

Boy do I agree! DH has been home for 2 weeks, Christmas, GS, & GN all in the house. Can`t wait for everybody to get back to their routines! It also means the bathroom remodel will be done & I can get this messy house cleaned up! Just in time for niece & her other 2 girls to arrive by the end of the month. Boy is this going to be an overflowing house! Thank goodness my studio is seperate!!

I SO.....understand. My son and his girlfriend had bad room mate situations and couldn't find a place they could afford so are temorarily here. Then she got very sick and needed sugery. She's on the mend and the search will begin again in a couple of weeks. We've been dogsitting our daughter's dog (a chocolate lab) so she could go to a funeral out of state for her DH's family. I feel almost claustraphobic. I have to keep moving things around to be able to function. I am having trouble finding things because they have been moved so much. I think my "normal" is a couple of months away after I reorganize "again".

I always said I could roll with the punches--well, now I can't. I like things the same. It upsets my routine when someone comes in and moves dished in the cabinets around, or moves a sewing machine cabinet to a "better" spot. I can't take it. I only have one DS home with us now and and glad he is here. He is out of the air force and is getting ready to go back to OK to school. I am enjoying him. He is more OCD than I am (lol) and keeps his things neatly arranged in his room, does his own laundry and is a pleasure to have with us. He will be leaving in a couple of months and I will really miss my sweet baby!
