Someone told me that the attachments are not displayed in the same order as they were posted, and that causes problems.

I made some changes and all new attachments should be presented in the correct order.

Please let me know if you notice any problems that could have been introduced by the latest changes.

Thank you! It has been a little bit of a pain, but I really appreciated that we can even do all this. Thanks for all your hard work!

Thanks! I complained in one of my posts, didn't think to report it as I figured this is not a new board, so it's probably not a new problem, so it must surely have been checked and found unfixable... won't make that mistake again.

Thank you. I thought I screwed up somehow. LOL. Wouldn't be the first time.

Many thanks, it will be so much easier now. I used to try and 'second guess' which way round they would end up on my screen, and rarely got it right.

You might look at this post and see if the problem Jim's Gem had was due to the change you made. She posted some pictures in one forum (chitchat I think), then posted other pictures (but with the same file name) in the pictures forum, and the first set of pictures showed up - twice - in the pictures forum.

dunster, thanks. Looks like it was due to the same file names being used on the same day by the same user.

The system uses a hash of user/name/day to store files on the server. So if the same person posts "the same" picture (as judged by the file name) on the same day in two different posts, it won't be stored on the server twice to save server space.

That would be great to have the attachments show up in the same order as attached!

It was driving me nuts (well, nuttier) trying to figure it out - finally decided it was the system, not me.
