I am amazed to hear how many of you know that song and were taught it at school. I thought it was just an Aussie "ditty".

I was surprised also. Definitely thought it was just a local song that we grew up with here.

I didn't learn it in school, we sang it in Girl Scouts as a round. I bet we drove our leaders crazy between that and Row, Row, Row your boat.

My daughter and new husband took a vacation to Australia a while back. She sent me a message after one very sleepless night and told me about these birds. Evidently they're very vocal and she was used to the deafening quiet of living out in the country. Now I know what bird she was talking about!
