I have noticed that so many of the members have their Fur-Babies in their Avatars, me included so I wonder if you would like to tell us a bit about them.

My Muffin was a rescued Yorkshire Terrier X abandoned puppy, found in a cardboard box on a street in Glasgow along with her siblings. I was lucky enough to get her as they were snapped up. She is now 10 and has been a wonderful faithful companion all that time, she knows that I can't walk far so she exercises herself. I might add she is a first class Quilt tester and has to check out every one thro' all it's stages and is very thorough in testing out the various battings

As you can see she sleeps with me and has a habit of waking me up in the middle of the night if I turn over onto "her" side of the bed by putting her cold nose on my mine and grumbling. Needless to say I turn over and she promptly plocks herself down against my back in a great huff. :-P

She is call Muffin, short for Ragamuffin 'cos she it, there is nothing she likes better than to get mucky, as you can see by the smile

Adorable! All seven of my fur babies were rescues and each have so much love in their own way to share. I won't bore people with more pics cause I just had a topic with pics put on it:) Your muffin is just darling!

Muffin is precious. I love all animals, but especially dogs.
You can read about my Ruby Darlin' and Sam here.

This is my little Lucy, she's 7 and we bought her as a puppy. We also had a Rottweiler but had to put her down last year when she started having massive seizures. Lucy is a Welsh Pembroke Corgi who doesn't play well with other dogs. We think it's because she grew up with the rottie so she thinks she's a rottie too :D

I have 2 cats, which many times can be more than enough. Both are rescues. The black cat is Inky who thinks she is the boss of me and many times she IS the boss of me but don't tell her that.

The tan tabby is Cici whom I rescued when she was barely weaned. She was literally skin and bones when I got her. Didn't think she would make it through the night, but 13 years later here she is. She is an absolute love on her own terms. She's my shadow quite often.

My avatar kitty is Theadorable AKA Teddi. She and her siblings were discovered in the eave of our shop/storage building 2.5 years ago at 2 weeks old. We had to rip down some drywall ceiling to get the 5 kittens out.

I bottlefed them and discovered they came from the neighbor's barn. His 9 y.o. GD and friend played with them too much so the Mom moved them. We do not know what happened to her but we saw her around for a brief period then she was not seen for a couple of days before we heard the babies crying.

In the end we lost one early on, 1 was adopted out, 2 live at the barn (with their Dad who also got fixed in the bargain) and we kept the runt who turned into a holy terror!

Last Spring we adopted Isla from the local Humane Society to see if a companion would help with Teddi's over-dependence and bad girl tendencies. I think Teddi is just teaching Isla to be bad now LOL

eta: they were auditioning some new "condos"

Right now I have two babies. I have a persian that is grey, Sierra she's my oldest at 15 years old. I had a calico, Jazz that I had to put to sleep last year and she was 11 years old. Anyway Sierra wasn't liking being alone so I was thinking, just thinking maybe I need to find her a buddy. Jazz had only been gone 6 months and my heart was still achy. She was my best friend and I still cry everyday. Anyway one of the city workers found this ity bity calico out at our well shed and came in to where I work asking if I knew anyone that would take her. Well one look and I knew she was coming home with me. She was about a month old. She is such a hand full too. Her name is Missy hence the Missys go to help name on this board. She helps me sew and iron. You name it she's trying to help me out. The new thing is trying to catch my toothbrush when I'm brushing my teeth. Must say it's like having a two year old around the house but she's such a sweetheart I got to love her.

Mine "Bear" was adopted after being left at the animal shelter as an unwanted puppy. Then his owner went to prison and his girlfriend didn't want him anymore so my friend adopted him only to find their other dog didn't like him and kept attacking him so she offered him to me. All this in his first two years so now he's been here for the last 6 years and is finally happy and content. He loves to play and totally understands everything you say.
