Have any of you tried eating raisins soaked in gin to treat arthritis? I have several friends doing it and say it really works? Any thoughts?

I'd forgotten about that.
Used to do it.
I remember my knees feeling better - don't know if it worked or I just thought it worked.
Didn't matter to me, since my knees felt better.

I just read this somewhere this weekend. Can't remember where. I think it said eat 20/day for 3 weeks then 9 a day thereafter. This is after letting the raisins absorb all the gin. Don't remember the quantities either. Here's a link and if you google "gin-soaked raisins" many more come up.

My mom used to do that a long time ago! I don't remember if it helped.

I'll be the Guinee Pig. I have arthritis taking over so I'm going to grab some gin and raisins and try it. Maybe beings I don't drink the gin will work the most.

I just read some of the things people say on this site. I'm definetely trying it. Darn it has to soak for a week. I'll still be hurting from it in a week so I'll wait. Thanks magpie for sharing this and thanks Ruby for posting this.

Sounds like a winner to me. My mom believes in rubbing whiskey on bruises. Claims that they don't form if you put it on right away. I haven't tried it.

I visited the link and read the testimonials-and I am going to try it. I am only 55 and my knees hurt all the time, hands beginning to ache esp thumbs. So I'll go shopping today ! Thanks for the info!
