I was doing an online search for a frugal way I could make some simple potholders, and I saw this! I do not know that I would ever feel comfortable using something that might be flammable for a potholders, but I thought just for the humor of it, I had to post this! Ha!

What will people think of next?

I guess it is a great way to recycle. I doubt if it ends up on my to do list though.

I think they are using thigh high stocking rather than what we traditionally think of as panty hose. That's what the picture sounds like, and the directions say you can use different colors.
That's my thought anyway.
Have a blessed Sunday.

I applaud their recyling mindset, but remember the stretchy cotton knit loops we made the woven potholders on the little red metal loom out of when we were kids? When the loops changed to being something other than cotton they did not do as well...potholder came out smaller and thinner, did not protect your hand very well and sometimes even melted.

i not only remember those looms and potholders, i used to rake in spending money making and selling them to the goodhearted moms in the neighborhood. :-)

i think they had all made a mutual deal. "you buy from my kid; i'll buy from yours."

if this takes off as a craft, they'll have to make looms in different sizes to accommodate the many sizes of pantyhose...mine would make a placemat!

I can see making some as gag Christmas stockings. I know at least one family member who has that "special" mind set who would love this, only made in red, white and green.
