Default Beautiful Spring Day Gardening

Up here at 3000' elevation the sun was out, the temp around 70 degrees. We've been here about 4 years, so I'm getting used to the seasons, floral in the area, the soil (clay and rock, before we had beautiful sandy loam), and planting for deer. I've loved columbine for years but couldn't grow them in the San Joaquin Valley where we lived before. So I got out there and planted 5 of them with lots of mulch and then thyme and oregano around them. Then pruned about 8 feet off the top of some bushes to get air and light in the area. I think columbine would make a nice quilt block. Think I'll take some pictures.

They are beautiful and kudoes to you for planting what is native to the area. You look like you have a green thumb!

Are you trying to make me jealous with your beautiful blooms and warm weather? It's mid 20s here with a wind chill in the teens.

Beautiful and there are definitely patterns around if you don't want to design your own. http://www.cleosdesigns.com/columbine.html
