I just would like to say to all those that have served for our country a big thank you. From one soldier to another THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!!!! Happy Veteran's Day to everyone out there!!!!

We had a delightful day for Veterans at school. Many came in for an assembly. They stood, turned and faced all of us--a packed auditorium with standing room only-- and we said "thank you!" in unison and gave them a standing ovation. Then one vet went to each 4th and 5th grade classroom to talk of their experiences. Afterward there had a reception in the cafeteria for them. It's always a touching day and I have to fight tears. Our kids know exactly why they have the day off from school today.

It's Remembrance Day in Canada today as well, a day to honor those who have served and are serving and to remember those who have fallen.

At one time this was a day when everything was closed, and there was no school, now it's just another day and to me that is so sad.
