Penzey's Spices
#41
Adore Penzey's Spices! I have several of their spices and really love them. They are not inexpensive, but quality costs - rather like quilt shop quality material and Wal~Mart stuff. They will send you a catalog 4 times a year that explains the differences between their spices - who knew cinnamon had such diversity??!!! - as well as some fabulous recipes!!! I have some of their smoked paprika and just love it!!!!!

I buy them mostly in the envelopes and they are a bit cheaper than the grocery store that way. I usually toss what's leftover after 18 mos or so. I know they say a year but I've found them to still be pretty good for longer than that.

Mom has been buying from Pederey's since 1980. We combine purchases and buy once a year. Saves on shipping. We have also bought from Penzey's and Spice Barn for more than 20 years. Always happy with all 3.

YES!!! They are wonderful. I pick my own Lavender from a farm not far from my home, but I ran out when I was baking cookies. Went to Penzeys and it was just as good a the stuff I pick and dry myself. So I've used many other spices from them. Love to just go in and look around.

I've always wanted to try cooking with lavender. I grow some but I don't know if it's the kind you cook with. I just love going out there in the summer and running my hands through it to release the scent. I really hope it comes back next year. DH never got me the stuff to mulch it and these intense cold temps might have killed it. If so I'll buy more.
