I don't know why but I was thinking about this show does anyone remember watching the original version in black and white on tv? It starred Mary Martin as Peter?

I remember seeing it at an Outdoor Drive-in theater when we were little. We saw many movies there because we went all of the time.

Yes, favorite version! That's when I decided I would never grow up! (And mostly, I haven't!)

that version was from the broadway production--and it was a staple on t.v. for a while, way back when. mary martin was fabulous! and sir cyril richards was great as the dad, nana, and captain hook. i think the one i've liked best since then was the movie "hook"--but it can't hold a candle to the mary martin version. (remember the t.v. version of "annie get your gun? same era!)

It used to come on once a year & we kids couldn't wait!
My son was Peter in his school play - can you imagine a 5th grade boy having to wear green tights. He was so cute!
