Here are some of the iris blooming in our yard this year...they are just amazing after all the rain we had. I can't wait to see the ones that will bloom later!

I forgot to say that the purple ones are from rhyzomes that are about 60 years old or more. My grandmother was a hybridizer in the Los Angeles area in the 1950's, and these were hers. My family and I have divided them over the years, so we all have some of Grandma Jesse's irises.

Awesome!! I love Iris, but I wish they'd last longer. I'm leaning toward Siberians now.

Hey--my dad is a hybridizer now!! :-D I've posted pics of his fields before.
