THanks ,Now I am going to send Darla an emil tell her to join the quilt board j ust so she can see her babys.

I saw them on the internet on her web site. I sent her email she said she had two and if we took both she would give us a better dea. So we did.Then we had to get someone to bring them from Washington to Missouri. That all happend the first of Dec. So I told my 2 little grandsons it was there Christmas gift.

The guy that brought them had a semi truck with a big horse tralier on back. He said he ran through a couple of snow storms. He also had other horses on there too. I think he was headed to Wesconsin when he left here.

My horses are Icelandics. We got our first one from a young couple in Oklahoma,I met her over the computer,they were going to be at the Kansas City American Royal.So we went there to meet them,and they had a horse they were going to bring for me to look at. Well,by the time this all took place they had checked this horse out a and she was a very good horse,so they couldn't sell her to me,in the price range I had told her. She said they wanted 8,000 for her. As it turned out,it was a good thing,because I never would have been able to ride her,she was very spirted. They checked around and found Freyja,a bay icelandic,she was in Canada. She is the one who had the new filly. She also had a colt 3 years ago,we named him Gunnfaxi,which means war horse with big mane. He is so gentle I think I may keep him,the one I ride,Hetta is a paint she and Gunnfaxi have the same Sire, all three of them are the gentleset horeses The couple in Oklahoma had the sire,his name is Glasir,that is what I need at my age,calm easy going. We finaly took Hetta to the vet,and he said she must have lost her baby. So we only get one this year.I am glad I didn't want any more,you have to be so careful who you sell to,I just want them to be cared for.and not sold to someone who might to do that. It is too hard.Hetta was from MN. We met a lady at the Kansas Equine fest,that had her she was 2 at the time, We knew her sire was calm and the lady that had her said her mother was very calm too. So that is the main reason we bought her,and she has turned out to be great horse. Usually a beginner can't ride a newly broke horse.But lucky for me this one was the exception. When my husband broke her,all he had to do was put the saddle on her get on and ride. There was no bucking or any of that. The only thing was she didn't know what he wanted her to do. So I had to put the lead rope on her and lead her around.

They only get to be 12 to 13 hands tall,sometimes in the males you will get a 14 hands. But they are very fast.

I meant to tell you too,the couple in Oklahoma,her husband is from Iceland,they are both horse trainers.his name is Gunnar,pronounced Gooner there,that is what we call our colt out of Freja,only I say it the american way,Gunnar. She has slowed down a lot lately sinc she has 3 little boys now. She said her husbands dad was working here and that is how she met him. I guess they both always worked with horses. After she met him she went to iceland and took some classes on training ice's her web site is klakahross.com if you want to see her horses. also the place we got Hetta was called North Star Icelandics,there last name is Cook, if you want to see her horses.
