Angry Poinsetta=Poison

I know for our furry friends Poinsettia plants are poison! and Oleanders are also.

What plants do you know about that are poison that we routinely keep for decoration?

I want to minimize the loss of my loved pets.

TIA
Jennifer

The ASPCA has a list of plants that are toxic to pets. http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal...n-toxic-plants

According to the ASPCA, the poinsettia is "irritating to the mouth and stomach, sometimes causing vomiting, but generally over-rated in toxicity".

Dieffenbachia, also called dumb cane, can cause death if injested by causing the throat to swell closed. It give me a "poison ivy" like rash too.

But they are also poison to humans. Just like the leaf of the rubarb, but the stem is fine. There are lots of things, do a google check to be sure. Be extra careful with pets, because especially cats like to play with the leaves when they move.

In our house it's pet's or plants. We have 2 furbabies. Lost our Bianca week and half ago. As long as I have pets I will not have a plant. We did not lose Bianca to plant poisoning though. She had cancer. Anyway, I've had both but not together.

Sorry for your loss tessagin........It's very hard, but think of all the wonderful memories you have about her.
