I have a Canon ip3500 and have done all the cleaning, deep cleaning, re-aligning etc. that the printer maintenance suggests. I've put in new toners and still am not getting the proper print-outs for the black. Any other suggestions? I hate to part with this printer, it's my 3rd printer & really can't justify another one just yet.

When you go to PRINT, a page should pop up ---- go into PREFERENCES or ADVANCED (whichever yours has) -- Make sure it's not set on DRAFT!

Sorry for your printer woes - mine won't print anything from my netbook because its insisting that it hs out of Magenta and Yellow. I have put new ones in, but nothing doing. While it is 'missing' those colours, it won't even print black and white.

I can still use it as a photocopier, so at least it half works.

It's set at standard, not draft...thanks, and I have tried it on high as well, just went back & redid all the settings, just in case.
It prints some lines completely but then the next line it will have like a white line through the printing, making me think there must be some kind of blockage.....well I've used up quite abit of ink on trying to clear it out!
Lacelady, when I change my toners I have to go in & tell the printer that the colour has been replaced, maybe yours is like that too?

Did you make sure to pull the little tape off the bottom of the printer cartridge? We carried the entire printer into the store because the cartridge wasn't working. The guy opened the printer pulled out the cartridge, took off the protective tape, popped it back in and away it went. So embarrassing. Both my sons are I.T tecs. I don't dare tell them about it. This is worth a try.

My printer was doing the same thing, white lines through the printing. But it was 18 years old!! Never could get it to work, finally gave up and went to my newer printer.
