just found out last week that it appears I have one. BAD news is that it is pressing against my little tummy pouch and my lapband causing me to not be able to eat as I need to!
Seeing my surgeon(lapband Dr.) this afternoon!

Praying it will not mean removing the lapband!
Keep my in your thoughts!

Did this appear after the lapband? Good luck.

Wishing you the best!

I was banded 2 years ago. THis appeared after helping a 350# client up off the bathroom floor back in June!

Radiana 09-22-2011 04:03 PM

Glad you're feeling better.

LoriEl 09-23-2011 08:47 AM

Glad it's not a hernia and you're feeling good-but what can the bulge be if not a hernia? I hope Laura is doing well. She will surely miss you if you're moving to Texas!

tutty 09-23-2011 10:42 AM

I got a hernia after a verticle (old fashioned ) hysterictomy !!! But , they told me not to worry about it unless I started having pain. It's right in my belly button !!!! Take care and prayers indeed.

well, here is what the Dr. THINKS it is. When you have lapband you have an upper tummy called the POUCH and then your reg. tummy below that.
He says something is making my Pouch bloat. SO, I am now on a very limited/strict bland diet of mostly pureed/soft foods for 6 weeks!

Saints preserve me...good news is..if it is something I am eating, I can STOP eating it...get my band filled again and move on with my life. I should also be able to lose some more weight while on this eating plan..sigh...

As for Ms Laura...sigh..that woman...after I got her armed healed, she up and decided she needed to MOVE. To a retirement community called the civitan homes. So, had to spend 2 months getting her stuff sorted through, having her estate sale and now cleaning the house so it can go on the market! For not being her "family" she sure puts me through it at times! But she is doing well and LOVES her tiny new apt!

nativetexan 09-23-2011 11:31 AM

good news!!

sherian 09-23-2011 11:39 AM

Wishing you well, hope you get better soon.

LoriEl 09-23-2011 12:14 PM

At least now you won't have to worry about her! Not much anyway. Hope your new diet helps.

Still thinking about you, and praying your better.
I had colon cancer ( good now) but when your stomach or
colon are not right, you are not likely to be a happy camper. Hope your situation will be ok soon.

Quiltinggma-nc 09-25-2011 12:23 PM

Prayers are with you that everything will be ok.

I had two of them within the first couple of years of my surgery. Finally the doctor went in and put a piece of mesh in my tummy area to protect it from happening again. Then on top of that he threw in a tummy tuck since my insurance was paying for the operating room and all. It's great. It's been about 20yrs now and I've had no more problems. Good luck with it all.
