tatavw01 01-14-2013 07:04 PM

sending you a little snowflake

nativetexan 01-14-2013 07:08 PM

It's in the single digits here, 4 F. I know, you're very hot. up to 122 degrees. I'd melt!!! as it is, I"m freezing.....

MaryMo 01-14-2013 07:10 PM

As soon as I can find the right box, I'll send you some Artic air. Would you like a snowman or two to go with it?
I wonder if its better than Antartica air.

Tink's Mom 01-14-2013 07:11 PM

I would be happ to send you a nice cold breeze from the Chicago area....I hate the cold and I hate the hot weather....give me 40 - 75 all the time....

kat112000 01-14-2013 07:15 PM

I would love to be in your shoes!

mrsponcho1 01-14-2013 07:44 PM

Weatherman predicting 19 for our low tonight. Our high today was in the high 30's. Last Friday our high was 69. You gotta love Oklahoma weather - never know whether to wear shorts or jeans.....

Chasing Hawk 01-14-2013 07:51 PM

Your such a tease !!!

LOL

We are heading into a warming trend.........should be almost 45 degrees in a few days.

earthwalker 01-14-2013 07:56 PM

I know exactly how you feel as a fellow West Aussie:). We have still not succumbed to the temptation of aircon. We get by with ceiling fans and fortunately a swimming pool.....Last night was a killer.....just before turning in around midnight...hopped in the pool with the dogs even my little Topo dog paddled on the side. Every summer for the last four years my DH has raised the subject of moving "down south". Might just happen if this humidity keeps up.......I can cope with the dry....but humidity, forget it.

cr12cats 01-14-2013 09:07 PM

we heard the aussies are having a horribly hot spell. hope the fires are not where you are.being here in kansas i have found out how spoiled i was about the weather. i was raised in san diego california. the temp was always nice except a few weeks of the santa ana winds that came from the dessert but even then it wasn't to bad cause we just went to the bay or beach which was just a couple of blocks away.and the southern california winters are great. kansas is either real hot and humid like you have now or to cold, as in 29 degrees right now. i'm always "CALIFORNIA DREAMING" these days. Hope the hot stuff passes soon for you. you'd be more than welcome to some of the cold from here if i could.

earthwalker 01-14-2013 09:20 PM

Yep...all over the country we are having these intolerable heatwaves....the fires are so far mainly on the east coast and down in Tasmania. Absolutely tragic. Every summer we live in fear of bushfires (we are in the hills surrounded by forest and bushland). Hopefully we will be spared, but who knows. We have a plan of action....ours involves packing the vehicles and leaving. We are reasonably organised and have harnesses and pet carriers for all our pets. As much as I would like to try and save our home, our block is too big and the terrain too difficult to even have a chance of saving it....yet alone surviving. Anyway....it's ice-cubes, swimming and ceiling fans....I just can't face the ironing pile today:)

Country1 01-14-2013 09:33 PM

Thirty degrees F here. Expected windchill 16 tonight. It is 11:30pm here now. Snow with sleet earlier this afternoon.
We have a little dusting of snow, but mostly is ice.
Will gladly split the deference with you.LOL
A hope you all get some relief SOON. Stay cool and away from the fires. You all will be in my prayers!...

litacats 01-14-2013 10:22 PM

well it is now 45c the aircons are working full out and keeping us cool. but I love the outdoors and my garden is cooking
and i melt in this weather. some of the fires are under control due to cooler weather in some parts of Australia but they are expecting the temp to go up again. what annoys me most is most of them a deliberatly lit I wonder how they would feel in they lost their house or a loved one. we are hoping for a cool change in a day or so, it was still over 30c when we went to bed last night @11.30 enjoy your cooler weather,

quiltsRfun 01-14-2013 10:32 PM

We warmed up to about 12 F today. Wish we could send a little your way and you could return the favor. Try to keep cool! I'm thinking of you and it's already warmed me a little. :)

litacats 01-15-2013 02:51 AM

6.45 pm

and it is still 37c looks like the aircon will be on all night again unless we get a cool breeze. weather lady said last night was our hottest night in history, but so many refuse to accept global warming.

MaryAnnMc 01-15-2013 05:35 AM

Oh, dear, I feel for you. I don't care what anyone says about humidity, 100+ degrees fries my brain! But here in Florida, 55% humidity is considered moderate, and pretty darn comfortable. Come summer it will be in the 90% with temps in the 90's. I'm with Tink's mom... I'll take the temperate middle, please!

We have brushfires here, too, but not as devastating as yours. On our flat terrain, they don't get as large, and there is nothing more frightening than flames up a mountain. A friend of mine lost her home four years ago to one. It is a life-changing event, and I pray you & yours are spared, and this cyclone puts a few of them out.

You can always come visit me, it's winter here and the weather has been delightful.

Amen to that!

Spudgm 01-15-2013 12:18 PM

We have warmed up to a balmy 22 and it will not be long before I'm grousing about the 90 - 100 :)

cattailsquilts 01-15-2013 12:28 PM

I'm outside of Phoenix, AZ, and the past week it's been down into the low 20's (F) at night! It's been colder here than at home in NH! One of my hubby's friends who lives in Fairbanks, AK, said it was 22* F this morning, it was 28* here! There is something *VERY* wrong with that!

Sandra in Minnesota 01-15-2013 12:54 PM

Hello from the frozen tundra! Actually it is about 10 degrees F, but the sun is shining. That makes it look a lot warmer. Don't even have much snow left or I would throw you a snowball. Hang in there!

BellaBoo 01-15-2013 12:55 PM

I'll take the hot weather over the cold anytime. It's freezing rain here today. Our guild meeting was cut short as cars were freezing over.

Debra Mc 01-15-2013 04:30 PM

Woke up to ice on my trees this morning. Can't get my sewing building warm. DH is going to have to underpin it to keep the air out. Going to go to Lowes Or Walmart tomorrow & get a bigger heater. It is cold, cold, cold! Hopefully will be warmer tomorrow.

nstitches4u 01-15-2013 04:53 PM

litacats, I would send you some of our cold weather if I could. Try to stay cool and get some quilting done.

huntannette 01-15-2013 04:59 PM

Holly macaroni......maybe I can send you a bit of cool air.....it`s about minus 20 Celcius here......would love a bit a warm air....let`s trade a few degrees........

jaly3162 01-15-2013 06:25 PM

I love hot weather. The hotter the better. I love summer. I don't know if I would like it if we didn't have air conditioning. I know when we had a storm last summer and we lost our electricity, we had a hard time sleeping at night and slept downstairs.

Lorileik 01-15-2013 07:24 PM

It was 15 below when I left for work this am. My car never did warm up. I drove with a denim rag quilt across my lap and legs. Brrrrrr

milikaa1 01-15-2013 08:48 PM

I will take about 50 degrees of your heat :P, we have been at or below zero for a few days here, I am a little tired of the cold already lol!

ontheriver 01-15-2013 09:43 PM

We are not too cold here. In fact was in the 70's last week. Cooler now and I would send you the cold if I could as I am the opposite, I hate cold weather.

katesnanna 01-16-2013 05:51 AM

We are in Queensland and thankfully the last two days have been cooler. Expecting it to heat up again by the weekend. The usual temp. here at this time of the year is high 20"s - low 30"s. Because of our high humidity High 30's into 40"s is almost unbearable.

nygal 01-16-2013 06:28 AM

I'm in the Albany, NY area and its 30 degrees now..warmed up and we have light snow.

AllAboutScraps 01-16-2013 06:36 AM

I'm in Western Massachusetts. We are having a light snow (came down pretty heavy early this morning) so we got more accumulation than anticipated about 3-4 inches in my area. Not too cold though, about 28 F. I like it best when it's between 50 and 75. The commute to work was okay. Lots of people need to be patient and relax rather than fret about where they are going. The point is to get there in one piece.

Glad I don't have to deal with humidity and heat. Keep thinking cool thoughts!

cherrio 01-16-2013 07:22 AM

goodgrief! I like it warm but that sounds like more than just HOT-dangerously hot. and the poor animals . . . how do they fare? glad you have a pool to help a bit

quilter68 01-16-2013 07:33 AM

I am with you about the heat. Pennsylvania climate is not too bad. Along about 50 years old, I had to get air conditioning. I am 71 and don't go skiing anymore but I like the cold.
To cr12cats, I could live in San Diego VERY easily.

To all of our Aussie sewing buddies, I hope the weather breaks soon!

It's 39 here, too - farenheit! Sorry to hear about your horrible weather, cyclone and fires. Hope it gets better fast.

wraez 01-16-2013 11:36 AM

I know what you mean. I live in the high desert of CA ... it is COLD in the winter, below freezing at night and HOT in the summer, most days over 100 and occasionally as high as 110+.

callen 01-16-2013 12:22 PM

Sending you some cooling off weather

I don't know if this will make you feel any better but right now in Northeastern Ontario, Canada it is -2 degrees C. BUT by tonight it is going to hit -38 C with a wind chill of -48 degrees C. Is that cool enough for you? 3 days ago it was +8 degrees so who says there is no such thing as global warming. Something is going on somewhere.
Stay cool !!

Deecee 01-16-2013 12:34 PM

You keep sending your weather my way - expecting a top of 102F here today.
