America's Got Talent TV Show - Howard Stern

I am very surprised to find that I am liking Howard Stern as a judge on America's Got Talent.

NikkiLu 05-22-2012 01:04 PM

Same here - I also never did like Howie Mandel either - but on AGT he is OK.

Marilynsue 05-22-2012 02:46 PM

I swore I'd quit watching AGT if Howard Stern were to be a judge. I lied. Decided to give him a chance and found that he does know how to behave. In fact he's rather likeable!

burchquilts 05-22-2012 09:58 PM

I know I'm a weirdo but I've always found Howard to have a rather "soft" side & have always kinda liked him. I think his radio show is just an act.

Here's what a dinosaur I am... I remember Howie on "St. Elsewhere" (one of my favorite shows ever) back in the day. Denzel Washington was on that show with him, too!

I only knew Howard Stern by comments other people made. I expected him to be foul-mouthed and
insensitive plus a lot more. I was shocked to learn he was going to be a judge. I thought I would try to
filter out whatever was offensive because I loved to see the talent of American people. Well, I got a shock!
Such a pleasant surprise. He IS a sensitive man...and a real showman. Last night gave us more insight
into the man.....and he even brought his father to the stage. What a show. He has added something that
was missing. I am now glad to have an opportunity to get to see the other side of one Howard Stern.
You GO, Howard!!!

i have been a stern fan for years. i listen to him on sirius radio, and before that, on terrestrial radio. if you can get past his "bread and butter"--ie sexy girls and gross things, he's remarkably a great interviewer and very kind and ethical. he did a GREAT interview with Billy Joel in december, and as well as Al Roker.

I know what your saying. I to like Howard on there. I think the show will get great reviews this year.

Rose Marie 05-23-2012 06:52 AM

Last night he buzzed a 7 year old who cried.
He could not take it and went on stage to hug the kid.
He kept saying I cant do this.

EllieGirl 05-23-2012 02:04 PM

I too have been pleasantly surprised. Hugging the little boy, and bringing his father on stage says a lot about what kind of person he is. His father is funny!

raynhamquilter 05-23-2012 02:09 PM

I will not watch the show because he is on it. I saw him once on late night tv and that was enough for me.

june6995 05-23-2012 02:58 PM

My suggestion.... "try it, you might like it!"
It was a real eye opener for me...and others are saying how much they saw the REAL Howard Stern.
I won't miss it!

So far - he (Howard Stern) has been a pleasant surprise!
Howie Mandel is also more tolerable to me on this show than on some other shows.

Last night there was a VERY strange act - that I'm surprised even aired!

The old man that did 'what are you going to do?' was a hoot!

I don't know about the rest of y'all but I think kids that age are too young to be put in the pressure cooker that these shows are.

howard stern..YUCK

Tudey 05-24-2012 05:58 AM

I wasn't sure how I would feel about Howard Stern as a judge, but I rather like him! And he is a good foil for Howie, unlike Piers who was just annoyed all the time, by Howie, the contestants, etc

Steady Stiching 05-24-2012 06:17 AM

Just remember what you see on tv is what the producers want you to see.

Let me just step up on my soapbox for a brief moment......Men like Howerd Stern...women like Kim Kardashian have been pivitol in this cultural trend our country that seems to be in to objectifying women, remember when women marched in the streets and burned their bras in an attempt to be seen as mens equals? The man is a skeez.....the man makes me kringe.
Breast implants...lip implants...butt implants, these are the women that Howerd Stern paid omage to on his radio show. Ask yourself if women are evolving or devolving? Then look at half this nations teen girls, posing on facebook with their hand on thier hip, their butt facing the camera and their lips pursed.
Their roll models? The Kardashsian, Howerd Stern, Snookkie? Really? a sad but true statement.
America's got Talent is a family show...Howerd Stern can control his behavior. But a lepard can't change his spots. The guy is a creep...I don't want a creep in my living room. There is so much apathy and acceptance in this county, we are spoon fed what we view on tv in this country in the advertisements to what shows are available, it just makes me sad.
Stepping down off my soapbox..thanks for letting me vent.

I wanted to not like Howard. His radio and t.v. shows were so sexist and nasty. Goes to show you, all that must have been just his professional persona at the time. Couldn't imagine Steven Tyler on Idol either, but he's been a breath of fresh air to the show and can be so darned funny.

wordpaintervs 05-24-2012 10:06 AM

I appreciate Howie and Stern more then before also, and it warmed my heart to see the little boy last week that started crying when he was doing his thing on stage, and how Stern got up on that stage to cmfort him. That was so special.

Learner747 05-24-2012 10:59 AM

Stern is giving the public what the public wants. He has taken over the show. Sharon and Howie are in the row behind. The muscle men who stripped and then reached into the front of their underwear were disgusting and did I see Howard Stern get on stage with them? Be careful approving what a show business person is selling.

Ditter43 05-24-2012 04:39 PM

Same here. I recorded it and fast forward a lot at first. Then I watched more bits and pieces and decided to give him a chance. I still ff a lot though!

Roberta 05-25-2012 07:21 AM

I've never been a big Howard Stern fan but I think he's brought to AGT just what it needed, a great sense of humor plus kindness to the folks trying out. I loved last evening when he brought his Dad up onstage and he was a riot.

burchquilts 05-25-2012 03:33 PM

Here's an interesting observation re Howard --->

I agree! I tried watching his show a few times, found him to be extremely vulgar, and I will not watch him, no matter how much I've enjoyed AGT in the past. Sure, he's been made to clean up his act because he's on network TV during prime time, but that doesn't mean he's "new and improved".
