I have a vintage tablecloth that I got from my parents' house and it is VERY stained. It was laying over an organ and the whole thing is pretty uniformly brown/yellow.

I've been soaking it in the sink since last night with a little dishwashing liquid, changed the brown water a half dozen times, and the water is down to yellow. I read to use vinegar and baking soda but haven't tried it yet.

It's a cute cloth, bright yellow flowers, green leaves, and red lattice work. I may use it to make something or just put it on my table.

Oxyclean or lemon juice and salt on the bad stains, soak, then put print side down in the sun.

Pam, I've had great success with this potion called "Retro Clean". A woman makes it. Just google it and you'll find her.
It is safe and reasonably priced. She's also on ebay.
I've used tons of it for vintage quilts, linens etc. I love the stuff.

The prices are the same on her site and ebay.

I'll try that. I'd like to save it but it might come out looking like it's tea stained anyway. :)

I hope you get the stain out.

I hope you can rescue it. Tea stained isn't all bad. When you get it out send us a pic of it.

I ordered some Retro Clean. I probably have several things I could use it on, my mother's and grandmother's linens.
