My Friend's Bday is Friday I am going to do a "gift a day" for her birthday week. I want to make her something special (not a large quilt) for her Thursday gift. Any easy ideas that would mean something special?
Thanks for the help Anna |
Does she like chocolate, or a candle with a nice mat to set a jar candle on? A night at the movies with her best friend (you). Don't know what you want to spend, a pedicure? Or do you want to make her something? What do you have planned so far?

Maybe a fun bag for grocery shopping, or a pretty table runner, or a nice chenille scarf for this winter. Just some ideas, but they can all be made fairly quickly. (I think)

Your friend is lucky to have you as a friend. All good suggestions here.

"Mini Vacation"
Wrap up a nice candle, a tea bag or nice loose-leaf tea, and some chocolate with this poem . . . "This mini vacation is just for you For when you are stressed or for when you are blue. A candle-lit bath, a nice cup of ea, And the swee touch of chocolate for you, from me!" You could get a wonderfully soft wool or fleece fabric to make a shawl and give it to her as a "comfort shawl" or "prayer shawl" to let her know she is in your thoughts and prayers. Get her out . . . treat her to lunch, dinner or a movie. You're a good friend! |
You're a great friend -- :D

A separate note every day of the week telling her something that you think is special about her? Monday - I love the way you laugh and cheer me up Tuesday - I admire the way you take care of your family etc etc |
Quilted cell phone holder, placemats or a candle mat, or maybe some homemade cookies?

Thanks for the help Anna I just copied your avatar pic, before reading, to make a small, maybe 16" square, for a friend. I have been looking for months, for something that would go with her living room decor. She has one of those magazine living rooms...a little country/feminine shabby chic. This is perfect, bc she has some stars hanging from a coat rack. This can go on the back of a nearby chair, she kind of suggested it. thanks! Maybe it would be good for your friend? :D |
That is funny in a another way. She loved the wallhanging that I made (the picture of which is my avatar) so I made her one in her colors for Christmas last year.
By the way, the pattern is on the McCalls website http://www.mccallsquilting.com/patte....html?idx=8875 Anna |
