i was wondering if any one here made soap? i want to try it but the lye part worries me! Let me your tips and tricks??? Thanks

I have an old time recipe around her from someone else's grandma...I know she said to make it outside for it is caustic...good enough warning for me on that;)I also know there are many sites out there on soap making...even detergents for laundry. Keep us posted!! If you want this recipe I'll go look for it...Skeat

I make it all the time. you just have to respect the lye and wear proper eye protection and gloves.

I love homemade soap and that's all I'll ever use.

You can also get big blocks of glycerine soap that you melt, add flowers, scent, colors as desired, and re-form. Michaels arts and craft store carries it near me.

My sister used to make glycerine soap -- it smelled lovely, and she could make some really cool things with it. She even sold some of it.

My neighbor makes Lye soap all the time and sells it she gave me some and no problem when u add ingredients it break down the lye. she have not made scented just always lye soap.

What kind u was thinking of making
