Anyone familiar with "Fabri-Knit" by Cranston..knitting with fabric strips

I spotted an ad in a quilting magazine for a bag made out of fabric strips. Has anyone ever used this particular pattern/product or done any kind of knitting with strips? If so, what size strips would one use?
Would love to hear if anyone has had success. Thanks!

I did crochet placemats with fabric. Has been awhile, so I don't remember the width, maybe about 1"? I do know that I liked it best when I used a fabric that didn't have a light backside...homespuns work great as they look the same on front and back.

Yep, I've knitted and crocheted with fabric. I inherited yards and yards of lightweight tricot and after figuring out how to cut it into strips without a bunch of sewing, I've knitted a couple "cat mats". For a friend's cat. It's really cushy and would make an excellent rug to reduce leg pressure. But the cutting is tedious and I'm not good at tedious!

I've also used tshirt strips.

Right now I'm collecting selvedge strips and strips I tear to begin a straight edge. I'll most likely crochet granny squares out of it. Should make good hot pads for the counter and table.
