Anyone use Maximized Living Chiro's?

I need a closer chiropractor and am always hesitant to just *pick* one without knowing someone who uses them (and likes them!). Some friends recently started with a Maximized Living chiro and so I went for an evaluation yesterday. They seem more "total" living than just crack your back, which I think I like. But I went online last night and saw a lot of negative reviews. Mainly for their hard sell for lots of treatments. Just wondering if anyone here had any experience with them?

No experience with them, just watch what decisions you make. A saying comes to mind, A fool and his money are soon parted. Try not to be the fool.

I appreciate that advice! I'm already on the defense... I would like to trust them as it would be really nice to find a closer chiro that did a good job - and they have a great no-insurance price for an adjustment. Much better than I was paying. As long as they let me come when I want to.

Wish you were closer to me...I have an excellent one I've been going to for six years, about every 2-3 weeks. He has helped me when nothing else did...so I believe in them!

I am a retired nurse and never thought I would go to one! I have bursitis in my hip and meds would only relieve sometimes. My chiorpractor goes to our church and I thought I would try. He knew how I felt about alternitive medicine. He xrayed and found the problem. Had several treatments and was so much better with heat and adjustment. Unlike some of them, he said at one time, I think you are in good shape and I will see you when you need. That has been 3 years ago and I do go back when I have a problem. Or if I am traveling in the car or plane. His charges are very reasonable and Medicare and secondary ins. paid most of the expensive. Give it a try and good luck!

I have never been to a Chiro, the negatives that I have heard are the over use of taking x-rays and again the hard sell of treatments and products. I am sure that there are good and bad practitioners as in anything else. I was involved in a very
serious accident three years ago. I had to have steel rods surgically implanted the length of both femurs. I experienced a lot of pain afterwards. My Ortho sent me to a physical therapist. He was wonderful with working on my pain. He was certified to use acupuncture, along with massage and heat. His treatments gave me almost complete relief from pain
that medication would not help. Might be worth a try and you could get a referral from your PCP. Good luck.

I have knee problems most of my life - and they're getting worse. The chiro that I have gone to usually could get the spot in my lower back that really helped them (the problem is still there, but they would feel much better). I'm hoping this guy can do the same. Actually he thinks he can get it to where it's "fixed". If he can do that without expecting me to come down there 3x a week, then it will be wonderful. I go for my first treatment this afternoon. I'll let you know what they expect.

I go to a maximized living chiro. The first three months I went three times a week and now I'm down to one time a week. In fact I go today. I pay $2300 for the year at 230 a month. That may seem pricey to some but he sure straitined (sp) up my spine. There are exercises to do at home too which take about a half hour a day. You get a kit of apparatus to do the excercise with and an insrtuction book as part of the cost.

Had one in Fl who recommended one in Ontario (home). All my family have gone to them for yrs with great results
that other methods-meds- didn't work. Do you have any friends that go to one with your same beliefs ?
I pay lot less than nancyw and I go about every 3 wks.

Wow. This is such a difficult decision for me. Thank you Nancy for giving me an idea of what they're going to suggest. The thing is, I know a good chiro treatment will help relieve my knees. But it comes back again. Their idea is to keep putting it back the way it *should* be until my body learns to keep it that way. I'm hesitant to admit it, but that does make sense. I hate the huge commitment though. But if it means I can hike and play basketball with my kid again, it would be worth it. Not that I can't do those things now, but I'm aware that I'm very limited.
