its a new set of shows I think, called Case Histories about a detective Jason Brodie. You can watch it online on the PBS site if you are interested. Tonight's show was sluggish at first, had to interweave several different plot lines into one final plot but it was good bit hard to understand the accents sometimes they are very thick but oh its music to the ears to someone who loves visiting England and Scotland. It is all in all a good watch something different than our detective shows.

Love the PBS Masterpiece shows. I also watch a lot on BBCA. Have to say I do have problems with the accent sometimes. But they make a nice change from US shows.

have tonight's show saved to watch later. really love the british mysteries. you have to pay attention to know what is going on. not like so many of the american mysteries (which i love anyway) that practically draw arrows to who-done-it.

Yes! I just did. As all my grandparents are from different parts of England, I'm OK with the accent.
Brodie certainly has a sad life, kind of like what-his-name from Malmo, Sweden (Kevin Branagh played him) whose show I also liked. (the books are good, too)

i watched it. it's nice to see a character be a real person - when he says that he is so tired. so much on his plate. you are right about the accents... sometimes i just totally miss something. but i love the PBS Masterpiece shows.

Love the Masterpiece Mysteries!! I love mysteries. It was sort of sluggish at 1st but later on you paid attention because so many things were connected....
I especially like the Augatha Christie & Miss Marble & don't forget, Piroit (mispelled)

I LOVE the BBC Masterpiece Mysteries and Masterpiece Classics. I record each and every one and watch when I can. Also have found Rosemary and Thyme. Just be careful with this series, record the show immediately following it or you will miss about 10-15 minutes of the end. They start their shows at 15 minutes past the hour and end up in the next show.
I with they had not killed off Chief Inspector Morris. I like the new Inspector Lewis and the new junior inspector really adds an interesting twist to the show because he is so smart.
Wallander was the Sweden version.

Thanks for mentioning viewing it online as I fell asleep during the show. Last night's was the 2nd one and I'm beginning to get the hang of them, lots of people or events seemingly unconnected come together in the end. Those childhood flash backs throw me off.

i love watching Masterpiece Classics. I have to watch most of them online when DH's not home. We like to watch most shows together. So I don't mind.

Will be watching the new one with Brodie starting tomorrow. Missed it this past weekend.

My favorite has been Doc Martin. He's quirky but funny. Rosemary and Thyme is a great one too! I'm really interested in Inspector Lewis. Missed Zen hoping that will be on again.

We love the British shows too. My husband is a bit deaf, and combine that with the accents, and I miss lots of the show trying to tell him what they just said. We solved the problem by turning on the closed captioning. Now we can read what we can't hear or understand. Hope that helps someone else!
