As a breast cancer survivor I naturally have a keen interest in BC organizations. There are many organizations that will ask for money, but it is hard to determine if the money is actually being used for the intended purpose. There are also many organizations that use interest in breast cancer to sell products for their own profit with little to no proceeds actually going toward the cause. But there is one organization that is truly trustworthy and worth supporting both in terms of money and time (volunteerism) ... Dr. Susan B. Love's Army of Women. I have done a huge amount of reading and research on this topic, and Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book is the best of the best in my opinion. It has real, up to date answers to the toughest questions. I know many women call it their BC Bible. But beyond the book itself being an awesome source of information from an expert in the field, the Army of Women was started by Dr. Love to not only work on finding cures, but also to determine causes and preventions through testing and research done with the help of a literal army of healthy and willing women. They have so much going on that there is something that almost anyone can be involved in sooner or later. They are also the best ongoing source for the best and most up to date info on all things related to BC. Please consider learning more about this group at www.armyofwomen.org and www.dslrf.org - then if you feel inclined, getting involved at whatever level you feel comfortable. I will pipe down and let the info on the websites speak for itself; I think you will be as impressed as I am if you have an interest in BC. Thanks for listening!
